Ambrosia Filament’s line of SILK PLA is part of their Low Calorie line of filament, no additives just butter smooth printing. This filament is extra shiny, and shows off colors very vividly. This filament is especially good at showing color contrasts in co-extrusion and other multi-color.

Derived from 100% Virgin Grade-A Non-Toxic pellets. Manufactured to a tighter than standard tolerance (+/- 0.03mm) you’ll experience consistent extrusion throughout the spool.

PLA is most hobbyist makers material of choice for 3D printing. A bio-degradable plastic derived from renewable resources (such as corn… I know we say our filament is low calorie, but don’t eat it – your printer is the only machine that should injest our filament!) it is one of the easiest materials to print with, with a relatively low melting point and is able to be printed without a heated bed. Printing with PLA is typically odorless, or when it smells gives of a ‘sweet’ aroma, and emits less harmful fumes than some other 3D printing materials, making it a safer option for enclosed spaces without proper ventilation.

The glue holding the filament spool together is rated for an environment of 70C (158F). If using a filament dryeror require the filament spool by placed in an environment exceeding this temperature, we recommend printing a spool clip (here).

Filament can absorb moisture easily.To prevent moisture absorption and contamination, the packing of filament should be kept sealed and in an airtight container with desiccant.
