Genmitsu Cubiko is a compact, enclosed desktop CNC router designed to make CNC machining more accessible for beginners, makers, educators, and electronics developers. It arrives largely pre-assembled and combines CNC carving, PCB milling, automatic Z probing, PCB Height Map compensation, offline control, USB connectivity, and Wi-Fi operation in a desktop-friendly machine.

With an approximately 150 110 40 mm working area and a 75W spindle running at up to 10,000 RPM, Cubiko is suitable for PCB prototyping, wood and acrylic engraving, small creative projects, and light-duty machining of soft metals.

Please note: Tool installation, workholding, zero setting, machining parameters, and CAD/CAM toolpath preparation are still required before machining.

Key Features

  • Minimal Assembly Required Cubiko arrives largely pre-assembled, reducing the setup work normally associated with traditional desktop CNC kits. Install the feet and cutting tool, secure the workpiece, complete the required calibration, and prepare your toolpath before machining.

  • Compact Enclosed Design The transparent enclosure helps contain chips and reduces operating noise, creating a cleaner and safer workspace for homes, classrooms, laboratories, and small workshops.

  • Automatic Z Probing The built-in probing system helps establish the correct Z-axis reference before machining, reducing the manual work required during tool setup.

  • PCB Height Map Compensation Cubiko can probe multiple points across a conductive workpiece and adjust the Z axis during machining. This helps maintain a more consistent isolation-milling depth across slightly uneven copper-clad PCB surfaces.

  • Door-Open Protection Opening the enclosure during operation pauses the machine and stops the spindle, helping reduce accidental contact with the cutting area.

  • Multiple Control Options Operate Cubiko through its built-in offline controller, a computer connected by USB, or the Genmitsu mobile app through Wi-Fi.

  • GRBL Software Compatibility Cubiko runs GRBL 1.1h and supports commonly used GRBL control software, including Candle and Universal Gcode Sender.

  • Expandable CNC Platform Optional accessories can add laser engraving, automated drawing, dust extraction, higher spindle speed, and rotary-axis machining capabilities. Accessories are sold separately and availability may vary by region.

Designed for PCB Prototyping

PCB isolation milling requires the cutting depth to remain consistent across the copper surface. Even a small amount of board unevenness can produce incomplete traces or remove too much material.

Cubikos Height Map function measures multiple points across a conductive copper-clad board and compensates for surface variation during machining. This makes it particularly suitable for small PCB prototypes, circuit testing, drilling, and electronics development.

The Height Map probing function depends on electrical contact with a conductive workpiece. It should not be presented as a universal automatic leveling system for every material.

Supported Materials and Applications

Cubiko is suitable for engraving, drilling, PCB milling, and light-duty cutting on materials such as:

  • Wood
  • MDF
  • Plywood
  • Bamboo
  • PCB copper-clad laminate
  • Acrylic
  • Polycarbonate
  • Resin
  • Nylon and selected plastics
  • Aluminum, copper, and brass under light machining conditions

When machining soft metals, use suitable cutting tools, conservative feed rates, and shallow depths of cut. Cubiko is intended for light engraving and small precision projects rather than high-volume production, deep metal cutting, or rapid material removal.

Control and Software Workflow

Cubiko supports several control methods for different workflows:

  • Built-In Offline Controller: Load and run compatible G-code files from the supplied SD card without keeping a computer connected.
  • USB Computer Control: Connect Cubiko to compatible GRBL control software such as Candle or Universal Gcode Sender.
  • Wi-Fi and Mobile App: Use the Genmitsu app for compatible machine controls and file operations.

Designs and toolpaths can be prepared using compatible CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360, Easel, Carveco Maker, or Vectric software. Third-party software, subscriptions, and licenses are not included unless specifically stated.

When an optional laser module is installed, software such as LaserGRBL or LightBurn can be used to prepare and control laser projects.

Optional Accessories

Cubiko can be expanded with compatible accessories, including:

  • CFL55-33 5.5W laser engraving module
  • Drawing and pen-plotter tool
  • Magnetic dust shoe for a compatible vacuum hose
  • 20,000 RPM 775 spindle upgrade
  • Cubiko fourth-axis rotary module for cylindrical workpieces

All accessories are sold separately. Compatibility, stock status, package contents, and regional availability should be confirmed before purchase.

Why Choose Genmitsu Cubiko?

  • Lower Setup Barrier: The largely pre-assembled construction avoids the lengthy frame assembly required by many entry-level CNC kits.
  • Desktop-Friendly Footprint: Its compact enclosed structure is suitable for limited workspaces.
  • Useful PCB Functions: Automatic Z probing and conductive-surface Height Map compensation support small PCB prototyping workflows.
  • Flexible Operation: Choose between offline, USB, and Wi-Fi control according to the project.
  • Expandable Design: Add compatible laser, drawing, dust-control, spindle, or rotary accessories as project requirements grow.
  • Suitable for Learning: A practical platform for classrooms, makerspaces, electronics laboratories, home workshops, and first-time CNC users.

Important Usage Notes

  • Cubiko reduces machine assembly work but does not remove the need to learn basic CNC operation, workholding, zero setting, tool selection, feed rate, depth of cut, and CAD/CAM preparation.
  • The enclosure helps contain chips and reduce noise, but it does not make the machine silent or eliminate the need for ventilation, dust extraction, and appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Do not intentionally open and close the enclosure repeatedly during machining. Allow the machine and spindle to stop safely before accessing the work area.
  • Soft-metal performance depends heavily on the cutting tool, toolpath, feed rate, spindle speed, depth of cut, workholding, and material grade.
  • Laser engraving, drawing, dust extraction, high-speed spindle operation, and fourth-axis machining require separately purchased accessories.
